Heroes..???

I never wanted this blog to be a political or social commentary but bear with me. I checked the national news this morning and see that in the last few days 3 Pro football players have been arrested for Homicide, attempted homicide, DUI and assault. Now you may be thinking what does this have to do with motorcycles, custom cars etc. Nothing really. The question I'm asking myself is what has happened to the heroes of society. I don't mean your parents or grandparents or siblings. Those should be a  given but even today that's not. When I was a kid you looked up to sports heroes, clergy, policemen, teachers etc. But today children have very few good examples to learn life lessons. You have teachers sleeping with students, pro athletes acting like gang members, coaches and clergy molesting children. We have parents who are missing in action or the ones that are around don't teach their children that life has value or that hard work will get you somewhere. Kids nowadays are taught that you are entitled to what ever you want, just take it and if you don't get your way scream loud enough until someone gives in to you. We have generations of families on welfare who have no shame about it. They act like it's their God given right and have no intention of trying to make their lives better on their own. What's worse are these same people will be the first to complain if a waiter takes too long or if they have to wait in line at the grocery store.
Turn on the TV. We don't get stories of excellence or people helping people. I frankly couldn't care less what the Kardashians are doing or watching people fight while bidding on abandoned storage units. I wish these people would all crawl back into the holes that they emerged from.
Sorry for the rant but please take the time to teach your children some values. Be a good example. If you're a useless excuse for a human, your children will be too. Show your children what real heroes are made of. Introduce them to a veteran or an active duty military member. Hold people in high regard who deserve it and make a point to expose your children to those people. For every crack smoking, homicidal  pro athlete, there is a doctor somewhere saving a childs life.

Slippery Rock Dunes..

Took the boys to the Slippery Rock dunes for some riding on Sunday. We had a blast. I took the XL350 and took it on the motocross track. Heavy but fun until I took a spill and broke the clutch lever. Spent the rest of the day taking pics and watching the kids ride. I definitely recommend the Slippery Rock Dunes if you want to have some fun on the dirt bikes. Another addition to the family....

Just picked this up this evening.  1979 XL185.

Cool Finds..

Found these cool lights at the flea market. Not sure exactly what they are off of but possibly 50's era Ford. I think the other ones are marker light. If anyone has any idea what they are off of let me know.

Happy Fathers Day....

To all the real Dads out there, have a Great Day. Just remember any man can be a father, but it takes a real man to be a Dad. Hug your kids today, you wouldn't be celebrating if you didn't have them.

The newest member of the family

1987 Yamaha YZ80. Picked this up last night for my son. Needs a few odds and ends but runs really strong.
He had a smile a mile wide the whole way home.

Whatever it takes..... Truly inspirational

I saw this on Chop Cult and just had to post it here. Thanks to the Blood Falcons for posting it on CC. I get so pissed when I see perfectly healthy people who won't get off their asses and do something worthwhile with their lives while young men like Darius Glover strive forward no matter what stands in their way.
